Mangalore: Academy holds meet to discuss Beary Dictionary Project

Mangalore, June 10, 2014: Several writers and scholars participated in a meeting held at the Beary Sahitya Academy Office in the city on June 9, Monday to hold discussions about the proposed Beary Dictionary Project.

The meeting was presided over by BA Mohammad Haneef, Academy President. In his address, he said  the plan is to compile a Beary dictionary within two years and to take up this project as a challenge by putting in determined efforts.

Veteran writer BA Viveka Rai who also spoke, brought forward various suggestions  for the successful completion of the project which requires extensive field work.

Scholar Dr UP Upadhyaya suggested holding of training session for those involved in the project.

 Writers and scholars AV Navada, Abdul Rahiman T, Dr Vasanth Kumar Perla, Zohra Abbas, Saara Aboobakker, N Ismail and others participated in the meeting.
B M Haneef, sub-editor, Sudha Weekly, introduced the topic of discussion.
