Mangalore, June 11, 2014: Seven medical colleges and hospitals namely KMC, Father Muller, K S Hegde, Omega, AJ Hospital, Srinivas and Yenepoya Hospitals, have signed an agreement with the government to provide treatment to Endosulfan patients, on June 10, Tuesday in the presence of State Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader.
Endosulfan patients having ID cards provided by the government are entitled for treatment at these hospitals.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said a total of 700 beneficiaries will be provided ID cards as per the agreement. He also said the patients will be provided to and fro transportation facilities. Those who are unable to go to hospitals for treatment can avail the benefit of mobile treatment centre, the minister informed.
Khader also said Endosulfan patients having APL or BPL cards can avail treatment if they have the ID cards provided by the government. Even beneficiaries of Vajpayee Arogya Shree Scheme are also eligible if they are referred by Primary Health Cents and have ID cards, he said.
AB Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner, Renuka Prasad, District Health Officer, representatives of various medical colleges and hospitals participated in the meeting.
