Major drugs haul; Man arrested with 4 kg ganja in Kasargod

Kasargod, Jan 14, 2014: In a major drugs haul, the Kasargod police have seized as much as four kg of ganja from a person hailing from Tiruvananthapuram on January 13, Monday.
The arrested man is T Francis (38). He was apprehended following a tip off to the police that ganja was being smuggled to Kasargod from Kollam by the Ernad Express Train.
Police have also seized a mobile phone, identity card and Rs 800 cash from Francis. He is learnt to have revealed during interrogation that he was smuggling ganja at the behest of some persons who had promised him Rs 4000. Sources said this was the second time that Francis was smuggling ganja which he was supposed to deliver to some person in Kasargod.
