As many as three coconut trees were engulfed by the sea at Hosahitlu in Kirimanjeshwar where the problem of sea erosion is acute. The house of a woman named Putti Hengsu is facing danger.

Though boulders have been dumped here  to prevent erosion, the sea has already engulfed these boulders.

Kundapur Tahsildar Gayatri Nayak has visited the please and has suggested that the woman be shifted to some relative’s house.

The sea is also rough in Maravanthe and waves are lashing on the NH 66. However, there has been no report of any damage. But officials have warned tourists against venturing into the sea. Here too the boulders have been devoured by the sea.

In Chara village of Karkala, a house has partially collapsed due to heavy rains. Several low lying areas in Uppoor are also inundated.
