Locals who saw the body of the crocodile floating on the river, immediately alerted the Forest Department. The exact cause of the death could be ascertained after a post-mortem.

Normally the life span of a crocodile is around 50 to 60 years. It is not sure if the crocodile died due to extreme heat or due to a fight with other crocodiles. The fish found near the dead crocodile were alive.
