KSRTC bus passenger carries chicken in bag; driver drives bus straight to police station

Bantwal, Oct 16, 2023: In a rather interesting incident, a KSRTC bus conductor who objected a passenger having a bag of chicken, later ensured that the driver drove the bus straight to the Bantwal Town Police Station.

 

Suresh had boarded the State Bank-Puttur bus at Thumbay. When the conductor noticed that he had a bag and enquired about it, Suresh revealed that it was a bag of chicken. The conductor told the passenger that carrying meat was not allowed. However the passenger refused to alight and following an altercation, the driver drove the bus filled with passengers to the police station where the SI Ramakrishna tried to settle the issue.

The passenger in turn questioned whether the poor have to take even one kg of meat in an autorickshaw.

Sreesha Bhat, Divisional Officer of KSRTC Bantwal Division has clarified that as per rules passengers cannot carry fish or meat in the bus as it may inconvenience other passengers.
