Jubilant Shobha attributes victory to people

Udupi, May 16, 2014: A jubilant Shobha Karandlaje who has registered an impressive win from Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency by defeating Jayaprakash Hegde of the Congress by nearly two lakh votes, has described her victory as a victory of the people and the party workers.
Shobha Karandlaje who garnered 5,81,168 votes as against 3,99,525 votes secured by Congress candidate Jayaprakash Hegde. Dhananjaya Kumar of JD(S) secured 14,895 votes while Gurudev SH of AAP managed to get only 6,049 votes and Vijykumar of CPI(M) 9,691 votes.
Addressing media men after the announcement of results, Shobha promised to work for the overall development of the constituency.
Shobha who had served as rural development and energy minister during the BJP tenure had later joined the KJP floated by her mentor and former CM Yeddyurappa. However she was back in the BJP after Yeddyurappa rejoined the parent party.
