Former President Abdul Kalam exhorts young minds in Udupi

Udupi, April 3, 2014 : Former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam has exhorted young minds that knowledge and hard work can make everything possible. You can achieve your goals in life only when you are not afraid, he said.

 

 

 

Kalam was interacting with students as part of a SVEEP programme organised at SMVITM Bantakal by the district administration on April 2, Wednesday. He requested young waters to evince interest in exercising their franchise and asked them to cast their poll with courage and wisdom.

“You should be clear-cut about your goals in life,” the former President said.

He gave a talk on ’Empowering nation through technological innovation’ and said, students  who opt for technical courses must become employment generators rather than job seekers.

  Bringing together communication, information technology, nano technology and biotechnology will  help in the evolvement of an advanced technology, Kalam said.

He advised young minds to be the captain of a problem rather than allowing the problem to be the captain.  Success can be achieved when  problems are defeated, Kalam said.

There was even a question and answer session with students.

Sri Vishwa Vallabha Theertha Swamiji of Udupi presided over the function. Dr Muddumohan, Deputy Commissioner, Kanakavalli, ZP CEO, Dr Boralingaiah, SP,  Ratna Kumar, Secretary of SSVMET, Prof. Radhakrishna, Principal and others were present.
