Moodbidri, March 23, 2014: Even as the controversy over the forcible eviction of a woman along with her kid from her house at Acharibettu in Moodukonaje village in Shirthady on March 18, is still raging, Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim visited the place on March 22, Saturday.

The DC who inspected the spot said the new utensils and other things found at the spot make  it evident that the house was not constructed years ago but only recently.

He also said action would follow against the officials if it was found that the documents of the land were in order and it belonged to the woman. In such a case the land would be handed over to the woman, the DC said.

He also said he had  observed the tax receipts of the woman and had noticed discrepancies as   it looked as  if it was corrected using a different  pen.

The DC also refuted allegations that the officials had committed atrocities on the woman during eviction.

Mohammad Isaac, Tahsildar of Moodbidri,  Somashekhar Mayya, Revenue Inspector,  Gertrude Veigas, Deputy Director of the Department of Women and Child Development, Usha, Village Accountant and others were present.
