Demand for LS ticket to Poojari : Congress delegation from DK to meet CM

Mangalore, Jan 22, 2014:   Congress workers  of the district  have started pressurising the  party MLAs and ministers from the district to  persuade the high command to  finalise the name of senior leader B Janardhana Poojari  as the candidate from Dakshina Kannada Lok  Sabha constituency.

There is information that a delegation of most of Congress Corporators of Mangalore as well as party office bearers  is  planning to  leave for Bangalore on Wednesday(today) to  discuss the issue with the Chief Minister and urge him to finalise the name of Poojari.

A senior party leader has informed that there are over 100 Congressmen in the delegation. He also added that the  delegation would  apprise the Chief Minister of the  hard works  put in by Poojari for the cause of the party in the district and also his role in the victory of the Congress in the  MCC elections.

It is learnt, around 20 corporators and several other party leaders and workers  had met Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo on January 21, Tuesday and requested him to urge the high command to choose Poojari as the candidate. Sources said the party men would make similar appeals to all MLAs and ministers.
