Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, Mar 12, 2014 : Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister KS Eshwarappa has demanded the resignation of DK district in-charge minister  B Ramanatha Rai  as  the recent clashes at Kalladka took place right in his presence.

Speaking to reporters at the District BJP office in the city on March 11, Tuesday, he also urged the chief minister and Home Minister to ask Rai to resign. He was also highly critical of the congress for targeting senior RSS leader Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat at the Harmony convention.

He further said even the police had failed to ensure adequate security arrangements despite being aware that Kalladka was a sensitive area.” The BJP team has visited a few houses in the vicinity and there is a visible anger against the Congress,” he said. He also stated that they even visited the district prison where a few arrested in connection with the clashes have been lodged. Eshwarappa said innocents  like coolies and tailors have been arrested and alleged  as many as 25 youth have also been booked under IPC Section 307.

On the recent challenge posed by DK Congress candidate Janardhan Poojari to BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi to contest from DK, Eshwarappa said “Poojari who had exerted his influence in  getting the nomination of Harsha Moily rejected has no capacity to compete with Modi.’

Referring to the controversial Yettinahole project, he said there was a need to make a thorough study of the project.

District BJP President Pratap Simha Nayak, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, were also present among others.
