DK Journo’s hype on ’Press Club Day’ with celebrations and felicitations

Mangalore, June 9, 2014: Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists’ Union (DKWJU), Mangalore Press Club jointly with Patrika Bhavan Trust, held a mega celebration for ’The Annual Press Club Day’ at Lions Seva Mandir, Kadri on June 7.

 

 

 

 

 

The function was declared open by well known Kannada film actor and director Shivadwaj. The Chief guests were Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and DK health minister U T Khader;  Senior journalist Manohar Prasad also spoke on the occasion.

More than a dozen acclaimed for their contribution in the media, to name a few like, Manohar Prasad, Harish Bantwal, Agnel Rodrigues, photographers Satish Ira, Daya Kukkaje, Apul Alva Ira, Ahmed Anwar and Rajesh Shetty were felicitated by the dignitaries. The role and hard  work of the media fraternity was acclaimed by the guest speakers.

Children of media persons who secured top marks in SSLC and PUC examinations in the academic year 2013-14, were called to the dais and recognised with awards. Colourful cultural programmes by media persons followed. Prizes were distributed to winners of sports competitions held for media persons recently.

DKWJU president P B Harish Rai, Mangalore Press Club president Ramakrishna R, secretary Kiran Sirsikar, Ravindra Shetty and all concerned with the effort graced the occasion.
