Chappara Muhurtha performed ahead of Episcopal Ordination of new Bishop

Mangaluru, Aug 27, 2018: With the Episcopal Ordination of the new Bishop of Mangaluru just a few days away, the Chappara Muhurtha was held at the Rosario Cathedral grounds on August 27. Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel along with other dignitaries performed the Chappara Muhurtha.
Speaking on the occasion, Nalin spoke high about the contributions of the Christian community towards harmony in the society.
He was also appreciative of the initiative made by the Bishop of Mangaluru towards the Swachh Bharath programme.
Bishop of Mangaluru Diocese Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza presided over the function.
Former MLA J R Lobo, who also spoke said each and everyone has to strive for a society where there is peace and harmony.
Ivan D’Souza, MLC, M P Noronha, Secretary of Mangaluru Diocese Pastoral Parishad also spoke on the occasion.
Corporator Latif, Fr Onil D’Souza. Fr J B Crasta, Fr Vijay Victor Lobo, PRO of the Mangaluru Diocese and others were present.
