New Delhi, April 25, 2024: "Oh Yes," says S Ramdas when his son asked him if he wanted to meet MS Dhoni. The 103-year-old fan, in a heart-warming video shared by the Super Kings, flaunted his love for CSK. Ramdas is an avid fan of the sport and takes time out to watch IPL matches even today. Ramdas, who was part of the Army of the British Military, was scared of playing cricket but loves to don the CSK jersey and catch a game of IPL in front of his television set.

"I will walk all the way to Delhi," Ramdas said when he was asked if he would be willing to travel to the capital city to watch an IPL match involving the Super Kings.

CSK have one of the largest fanbases in the IPL and they have had some special Super Fans over the years. Saravanan Hari, the man who paints himself in yellow and travels across the country to cheer for CSK, is one of them. However, there have been none like Ramdas, who still thinks MS Dhoni is the captain of the 5-time champions.

"Yes, whenever he has time and whenever he calls. Oh yes," Ramdas said.

In fact, the 103-year-old fan recognises MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja from photos on a phone screen, flaunting his love for the Men in Yellow.

"He has been following IPL matches. We think he wouldn’t be able to watch the matches fully. But he does it. When he is watching CSK matches, he is excited. You can see it from his body language. He, in fact, predicts the games," Ramdas’s son said.

Ramdas, who will turn 104 in 2024, talked about the fast-paced nature of T20 cricket, adding it does not drag on like other traditional formats of the sport.

“While I was studying school, I was interested in cricket. But I was also afraid of getting hit. I used to bowl. “I love cricket, but I am afraid of playing cricket. I watch it on TV. 20 overs games finish quickly. They don’t drag on. I like it," he said.

Super Kings, who will play their next two matches at home, are 5th on the IPL 2023 points table with 8 points from as many matches. The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led franchise lost to Lucknow on Tuesday despite posting 210 after a sensational century from Marcus Stoinis. CSK next face SunRisers at home on April 28.
