Bantwal: Man beaten up for trying to molest college student

Bantwal, July 12, 2014: A 24 year old man from Badanaje in Kadambu village was beaten up by the public after he reportedly tried to molest a college student on July 11, Friday.

Sharief The accused is Sharief. It is learnt he had tried to molest the girl studying in a medical college while she was heading home from the college. He had allegedly pulled her towards him after holding her hand. Sources said he was following the girl and took advantage of the isolated area and questioned about her name, place of stay etc. The girl who refused to reply even hit him with her umbrella and raised a cry, Locals who heard her rushed to the spot. Though Sharief tried to escape, he was chased, trapped and beaten up before handing him over to the police.

Sources said Sharief was once earlier too had been pulled up by locals for chasing young women.
