Mangalore, May 31, 2014: “Knowledge is wealth, power and energy; and it a tool to achieve your goals” said Dr K V Peter, Director, Noni World Research Foundation, Chennai and Former Vice Chancellor, Kerala Agricultural University, speaking on the occasion of Fourth Graduation Ceremony of St Aloysius College, Mangalore held on Saturday, 31st May, in St. Aloysius High School Auditorium, Mangalore.

In his graduation address DR K V Peter, said “power of knowledge you possess, is for human wellness and welfare. It is only wealth, power and purity of knowledge which will make an individual distinct and different to serve many other less fortunate than yourself.” He wished the students to be grateful to the Jesuit’s by their positive thoughts and carry knowledge to unreached and lesser fortunate. Later he gave away the certificates for 1442 graduates.

Earlier the graduation ceremony was declared open by Rev. Dr Stanislaus D’souza SJ, President, Mangalore Jesuit educational society (MJES) and provincial, Karnataka Jesuit province. Rev. Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, Vice President, MJES and Rector of St Aloysius Institutions congratulated the graduates on this occasion and said that the student’s experiences and the exposures will help them to decide their future and thus help them to face challenges in their lives.

The Principal of the college, Rev. Fr Swebert D’silva SJ, Dr A M Narahari, Registrar, Dr Judith Carlo, convener of the ceremony were present on the dais. 23 rank holders in Under Graduation Level and 42 students in Post-Graduation Level were awarded with medals. Special prizes were given to 3 rank holders in BA by Mr. Sharanguda, in memory of his son Mr. Banu Prakash, former student of this college.  The graduates pledged the oath to uphold and advance the social order and use the opportunity for the well-being of the society.
