Revenge in times of demonetisation: Ex-lover spotted in bank queue, thrashed

New Delhi, Nov 24, 2016 : Revenge is a dish best served, when you are exchanging notes in a bank queue. A woman who went to exchange scrapped notes, spotted her ex-boyfriend, who ditched her after proposing marriage years back, in a serpentine queue outside a bank in Nashik on Monday.

What followed was not an emotional reunion of estranged lovers, but settling of old scores, as according to the woman he had suddenly disappeared from her life four years back.

After spotting him, the 27-year-old former girlfriend, stepped out of the queue and called up her family, all the while keeping an eye on him so that she does not ‘lose’ him - again!

Her brother and father soon arrived at the scene and confronted the unsuspecting 30-year-old man over the breach of promise and trust.Later things escalated and they thrashed him in full public view.

The woman’s family later filed a non-cognisable offence against the man, who claimed she had brought not family members but four goons to beat him up.

“Till now, the man who was beaten up, has not lodged a police complaint. We are making further enquiries before proceeding in the matter,” Satpur police station’s senior inspector Avinash Sonawane.told IANS.

The man was admitted to a local hospital for treatment, Sonawane said, adding the identity of the duo has been kept secret.

A non-cognisable case has been registered against the man under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of IPC, police said.
