Jammu, Nov 29, 2016: Two armymen were reportedly killed as three-four terrorists stormed into an army camp in Nagrota on the outskirts of Jammu city early Tuesday. According to reports, two terrorists have also been killed in the ongoing encounter. Sources said terrorists are believed to be holed up inside the army officers’ mess as of now.

armySignificantly, the attack comes three days after Pakistan approached India for talks so as to de-escalate tension along the borders between two countries.

Army officials confirmed that terrorists had entered the premises of 166 army unit stationed at Nagrota-based 16 Corps headquarters. However, they did not give details, saying the encounter between them and the army was going on.

With the encounter in progress, the area has been cordoned off and no vehicle is being allowed to ply on the road passing outside the 16 Corps headquarters. All the educational institutions have been closed in Nagrota tehsil, while reinforcements of police and paramilitary forces have also been moved in. All entry points to Jammu city have been sealed as a precautionary measure.
