Mangalore Today News Network

Chandigarh, May 15, 2015: Nearly a fortnight after a 13-year-old girl was harassed and thrown out of a bus in Moga, yet another shocking incident of alleged molestation of two teenage girls has been reported in the Muktsar district of Punjab on Friday.

grabpunjab.jpAccording to reports, two minor sisters from a village near Muktsar district were allegedly harassed by the conductor of a bus that belongs to a company owned by Akali Dal leader Hardeep Singh Dhillon alias ’’Dimpy’’.

The shameful incident took place on Tuesday afternoon when the two girls were travelling alone and were on their way back to their village after getting their Aadhaar cards made in Muktsar.

The conductor of the bus allegedly started misbehaving with them and made lewd comments soon after the bus had left Muktsar.

When the girls protested, they were de-boarded from the bus by the conductor.

The local police had initially refused to file an FIR in connection with the case. However, a formal complaint was registered against the bus conductor hours later when the matter was reported by the national media. The girls’ father had alleged that the police had refused to register their complaint and take any action.

Speaking to Zee Media, the girls’ father alleged that the cops had told him to go to the media for justice when he approached them for help.

"The family approached us this morning. We cannot file an FIR until the probe is over, " Muktsar SSP Kuldeep Singh Chahal was earlier quoted as saying by the media.

The SSP also reportedly said that the father did not approach the local SHO which led to the delay.

Importantly, Akali Dal leader Hardeep Singh Dhillon is the chairman of the Muktsar District Planning Board.

The latest incident has taken place nearly two weeks after the Moga incident, which ven echoed in Parliament and evoked a national outcry.
