Kerala couple celebrates 100th birthdays together

Kottayam, Sep 20, 2017: Just a 100th birthday would be the most remarkable event of the year. But for Joseph Maniyakkupara, and his wife Rosamma , it is double the joy as they both turned 100 this year.
The centenarian couple who lives in Thidanad near Kottayam in Kerala got married when they were both 19 years old. Hence this year also sees their 81st anniversary of marriage.
Maniyakkupara family and friends from Thidanad parish decided to make this a very memorable event and offered thanksgiving for this extraordinary blessing.
They celebrated the occasion with a holy mass at the family residence with special permission from the diocese . The mass was led by the couple’s nephew Dominic Kozhikothikkal . Vicar of St Joseph’s Church Thidanad, .Jacob Vadakkel and assistant vicar George Kottaram were co-celebrants.
