India becomes fourth worst-affected nation by Coronavirus Covid-19

New Delhi, Jun 11, 2020: India today overtook the United Kingdom to become the fourth most affected country by the coronavirus after recording a record daily spike in new cases. According to a tally maintained by Worldometer, India currently has 2,97,001 cases while the UK has 2,91,409. India is only behind the US, Brazil and Russia now.

 

Both Maharashtra and Delhi today again reported their highest single-day spike in new coronavirus cases as the infection continues to rapidly spread. Maharashtra saw 3,607 cases and 152 more deaths, taking its tally to 97,648 and its death toll 3,590. Meanwhile, Delhi reported 1,877 fresh cases and its death toll increased from 984 to 1,085.

Telangana Reports 208 New Cases, 9 Deaths | 208 more Covid-19 and 9 deaths reported in Telangana. Total number of cases in the state is now at 4,320, including 1,993 discharged, 2,162 active cases and 165 deaths: State Health Department.

India Overtakes UK to Become 4th Worst-hit Country | With 2,97,001 total cases, India surpasses United Kingdom (UK) to become the fourth most-affected country by coronavirus pandemic, according to Worldometers tally. The country’s death toll stands at 8,473 and 142,454 cases are still active. US remains the most-affected country with the highest number of coronavirus cases (20,72,273) followed by Brazil (7,75,581) and Russia (5,02,436).
