Hyderabad, January 19, 2015: The recently arrested Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) recruit, Salman Mohiuddin, was in touch with many other youths, influencing them to join the dreaded terror outfit, sources told Headlines Today on Monday.

salmanAccording to police sources, the Telangana police have been contemplating seeking 15-day custody of the 32-year-old Hyderabad-based engineer, who has pursued his higher studies in the United States.

Mohiuddin was allegedly on his way to Dubai to reach Syria via Turkey to join the ISIS when he was detained at Hyderabad airport on January 15 and consequently arrested. He was sent in judicial custody on January 16.

Officials of Intelligence Bureau and Telangana police felt they were lucky that they could nab Mohiuddin as he could have been "extremely dangerous" since "he was actively plotting terror activities on Indian soil".

"He was communicating with the ISIS handlers on how to do it since that was an area he did not know how to go about it... Also, he did not have the wherewithal to do it," an official told Headlines Today.

The IB has been going through electronic communication involving Mohiuddin. Sources said he had already established contact with at least 10-15 youths in the last couple of months and was trying to approach many more.
