Asha Bhosle’s son Hemant passes away in Scotland

Sep 29, 2015: Asha Bhosle’s eldest son Hemant, who had been battling with cancer for the last five years, passed away on Monday (September 28). He was 66.

 

Hemant had been living in Scotland in his last days. A music director, Hemant had composed a few songs like Jage Jage Nainon Mein (from the film Damaad), Shraddhanjali, Nazrana Pyaar Ka, etc. Asha Bhosle had sung most of these songs.

Monday was Asha’s elder sister Lata Mangeshkar’s 86th birthday. According to reports, the birthday celebrations were called off after the news of Hemant’s death reached the family. Bhosle is supposed to fly to Scotland at the earliest.

Three years back, Asha Bhosle’s daughter Varsha had committed suicide.
