New Delhi, Jan 25, 2024: Delhi Chief Minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said that the ’Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir was a "matter of immense pride and happiness" for everyone across the country and the world.

Addressing a gathering at the Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi, he said that the AAP would adopt 10 principles of ’Ram Rajya’ in the national capital. He also assured that his government would do their best to sponsor the travel of devotees from Delhi to Ayodhya.

"On one hand, while we have to devote ourselves to Lord Ram, on the other hand, with the utmost honesty, we have to dedicate ourselves to the welfare of our nation. If we tread the path of Lord Ram, no one can stop India from becoming the world’s number one country," Arvind Kejriwal said.

The Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was inaugurated on January 22 in a grand celebration, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the ’Pran Pratishtha’ rituals of Ram Lalla (infant Lord Ram). The event witnessed the presence of a myriad of celebreties, including Bollywood superstars and sporting legends such as Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar and Anil Kumble. South icon Rajinikanth also attended the inauguration.

Following the opening, PM Modi addressed a massive gathering of over 7,000 people and celebrated the homecoming of Ram Lalla after 500 years and years of struggle.

There has been a huge influx of devotees at the Ram Mandir after the venue was open to the public on January 23. People have been beating the bone-chilling cold of North India to catch a glimpse of Ram Lalla and offer prayers to him.

Here are the 10 principles:

1. Arvind Kejriwal said that it is the AAP government’s endeavour that no individual suffers from hunger in Delhi.

2. He said that the ’Ram Rajya’ in Delhi would determine that everyone in the national capital gets "an equal and good education".

3. Every citizen in Delhi should get quality medical treatment, and no one should be refrained from the same or die because of lack of money, Arvind Kejriwal said. "We have improved the hospitals of Delhi," he added.

4. He praised his government’s electricity policies, saying that now everyone in the national capital gets 24-hour electricity without any power cuts. "Everyone should get electricity," the Delhi Chief Minister said, adding that people are now getting zero electricity bills and the poor are enjoying free power.

5. Arvind Kejriwal said that everyone in Delhi should have water - starting from the poor to middle-class families, stressing that it is indeed happening in the national capital now. "Today, we have supplied water to many areas of Delhi," he added.

6. Another ’Ram Rajya’ principle that Arvind Kejriwal adopted is respect for elders. "A family and society can never progress where elders are not respected," he said.

7. He called for women’s safety in Delhi, while taking a dig at the Centre, saying that the law and police in the national capital are not under the AAP government. "We are trying to do everything within the system we have. Today, a big network of CCTV cameras has been formed in Delhi. (The city) has the world’s largest network of CCTV cameras. More CCTV cameras are installed in Delhi than in New York, London, and Paris. An effort has been made to install street lights in dark areas," Arvind Kejriwal said.

8. The Delhi Chief Minister highlighted the importance of employment, saying that "unemployment is the biggest problem facing the country today". Arvind Kejriwal said that via employment fairs and government job portal, as many as 12 lakh jobs have so far been provided.

9. In Delhi’s ’Ram Rajya’, Arvind Kejriwal said, "Inflation will have to be reduced." He said that people are unable to meet their daily household expenses due to inflation. The Delhi Chief Minister, however, noted that according to a survey the central government, the national capital has the "lowest inflation in the entire country". He added that if inflation is so intense, there cannot be any ’Ram Rajya’.

10. Arvind Kejriwal also said that such a regime needs to be created or a government must be in power, in which every individual gets an "equal share", and lives with "love and affection".
