5 killed 3 injured as bus rams Omni and bike in Yellapur

Bhatkal, March 6, 2016: Five people including three women were killed and 3 others were seriously injured when a private bus rammed a Maruti omni before it was hit to a bike at Yellapur NH 63, about 125km from Bhatkal, on wee hours of Sunday.
Four passengers travelling on Maruti omni and a bike rider killed on the spot while 3 others from omni injured seriously.
According to the sources the bus was on the way to Gokak from Mangalore while the omni hailing from Haliyal were on the way to Dharmasthala.
The four dead who were travelling on Omni were identified as Dev Jadhav (35), Shashikala Devamma (42), Akshata Devamma (22) and Sharadha (55), while the Bike rider was not yet identified.
The three injured were admitted in Yellapur Govt hospital were identified as Dyamanna Wadkar (45), Jyothi (19) and Anil (12)
It is said that seven persons from a family were on the way to Dharmasthala from Haliyal when this tragic accident occured at Gullapur NH 63 in Yellapur at around 3:45am
Police arrested the bus driver and a case has been registered in Yellapur police station.
