3 out 10 terrorists infiltrated India killed, 7 still on hunt

New Delhi, March 15, 2016: Security agencies today confirmed that three out of ten terrorists, who infiltrated India via Gujarat early this month, have been killed. Officials are now trying to verify the identity of the terrorists who have been killed.

gujarat_However, the hunt is on for the remaining seven terrorists who are still on the loose.

According to officials, at least 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists may have entered India through Gujarat and may be planning to carry out a big strike. The terror alert, which was shared by Pakistani National Security Adviser Nasser Khan Janjua with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval, came ahead of the Shivaratri festival.

Three abandoned boats were spotted by the BSF on the shores in the Kutch district. Also, a man was arrested after he was found taking photographs of the Bhuj Army base in Gujarat.

Following the warning, several cities across the country were put on high alert and malls and public places were put under strict vigilance. Director General of Police of Gujarat PC Thakur cancelled the leave of all police officials and ordered them to resume duty immediately.

Security authorities increased vigilance in tier two cities including, Lucknow, Jaipur, Vijaywada, Bhopal, Chandigarh and Panji. Metros like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore were already put under the scanner of the IB officials.
