Any ideological difference, including Veerashaiva-Lingayat issue, should not lead to violence. Murder of Gauri Lankesh is a heinous crime, and it is an uncivilised and inhuman act, he added.

‘Corruption everywhere’

When asked about Kannada University Vice-Chancellor Mallika Ghanti’s allegation about corruption in Vidhan Soudha, Kumar said, “she is a responsible person and I cannot say if her statement is right or not without any knowledge about the context. Now, she has the responsibility to give the evidence for her charges.”

Corruption is everywhere, including politics and media and Vidhan Soudha is not ‘Gangotri’, said the minister. Some take bribe, while many others are corrupt in mind. The government would take strong action in corruption cases, he added.
