Bahrain : Yakshagana ‘Daksha Yajna’ captivates audience

Bahrain, Mar 4, 2013: A Yakshagana ‘Daksha Yajna’ was successfully staged  at the Indian Club Hall here recently under the aegis of the Bahrain Kannada Sangha and the local Basava Samithi. UH Neelakantha, Honorary President of the Basava Samithi and well known entrepreneur,  inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp along with other senior Kannadigas of Bahrain.

Srinivas Bhat Kalavar, veteran Yakshagana artiste was felicitated on the occasion.  Rajkumar, President of the Kannada Sangha, Rajesh Shetty, Secretary, RM Patil, President of Basava Samithi, Shivananda Patil, Shivakumar, Ravishanker, Shashikala, Vijayashree and senior Bhagavatha HK Pai were present.

The Yakshagana was staged under the direction of Srinivas Bhat Kalavar. HK Pai, Narayana Panjatotti, Mahesh Nayak. Dhananjaya Kinnigoli and others were the background artistes. Srinivas Bhat Kalavar as Daksha, Mohan Rao as Eshwar, Mohan Edneer as Dakshayani, Arun Airodi as Devendra,Shobha Ramprasad as Vayu presented  a very effective portrayal of the characters.

All the artistes and volunteers were felicitated at the valedictory of the function.
