Thieves ransack Dhananjay Kumar’s brother’s house

Mangalore, Feb 11: A gang of thieves broke into the house of Bharathraj Alva, brother of former Union Minister Dhananjay Kumar on Feb 10, Wednesday and escaped with Rs 2 lakh and gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 5 lakh. The house is in Nanthoor Padav. 

Bharathraj Alva is the deputy general manager in Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited (KIOCL). He had gone to Venoor, Karkala on Feb 9 to attend a wedding. The thieves broke in when there was nobody at home. 

When the owner returned, he found that the house was completely ransacked and the cupboards wide open. The cash and ornaments stored inside the cupboard had disappeared. 

The Kadri police, who have registered a complaint, said that the thieves broke in through the back door of the house. Police are now investigating the case.
