Sandesha will produce Konkani audio CD of New Testament

Mangalore, Dec 15: Sandesha Foundation, an organization that fosters fine arts, will produce an audio CD of the New Testament in Konkani. The recording is to commence on Dec 14, 2009; and the CD is expected to be ready during the season of Lent in 2010. 

The print version of the Konkani New Testament was ready in 1979, owing to the efforts of Bishop Basil S D’Souza and translator Dr. Victor pinto. A revised version was published in 1991 by Mr. Jossy Vas and Fr Philip Nazareth. 

Sandesha requests members of the Christian community to offer their whole-hearted support to the project of bringing out an audio CD of the New Testament. Those who are willing to contribute may send their cheques to Director, Sandesha Foundation, Premnagar, Bajjodi, Mangalore 575005 or SB a/c No. 0842101008232, Canara Bank, Shivabagh, Mangalore. 

Donors will get a tax benefit under the section 80G of IT Act 1961.
