NITK will organize Global Alumni Convention

Mangalore, Dec 24: The National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, (NITK) will be organizing the 5th Global Alumni Convention on Dec 26 - 27 as part of its golden jubilee celebrations. 

NITK expects more than 1000 alumni of NITK from all over India as well as abroad to participate in this two-day event, said Dr. Sandeep Sancheti, the director of NITK, during a press conference organized at Press Club on Dec 24, Thursday. 

Aravind Limbavali, the minister for higher education, will inaugurate the convention at SJA on Dec 26, Saturday, at 9:30 a.m., he said. 

Former principals and directors as well as former members of the faculty of KREC and NITK will be felicitated. Awards will also be conferred on 15 alumni for their outstanding achievements in life. The convention will include a panel discussion on “Role of NITK and Alumni for India Leadership in Global Scenario,” said Dr. Sancheti. 

Gopal Kalkura, Vittaldas Prabhu, Vijayanand Sullia, and Jayavanth Kamath were also present during the press conference.
