Modernization is affecting our culture: B Nagaraj Shetty

Mangalore, Dec 24: B Nagaraj Shetty, the president of the Coastal Development Authority, inaugurated Thunder Fest 2009, a traditional dance and music show held as part of the 15th anniversary celebrations of Bajpe Thunder Academy on the Central Ground. 

In his inaugural speech, B Nagaraj Shetty said that Indian culture is being affected by modernization, for which we should increasingly organize cultural programmes that showcase our customs and culture. Dance teams should work hard toward the preservation of culture, he said. 

Sujith Shetty, the music director, and Yugananda Chauta, the founder of the Academy, were felicitated during this occasion. Free books were distributed to students belonging to minority communities and scheduled tribes. 

Prof Sudeer Raj K of NITTE Justice KS Hegde Institute of Management, Bhuvanabhirama Udupa, and many others were present during the occasion.
