MoEF directs CEE to hold public meetings on CRZ Act

Mangalore, Feb 11: The Union Ministry for Environment and Forests (MoEF) has directed the Centre for Environment Education (CEE) to hold public meetings with the purpose of strengthening in CRZ Act of 1991. 

Ishwar C Poojar, the associate programme officer of CEE, has issued a press release stating that the public meetings will be held at the College of Fisheries, Yekkar on Saturday at 10 a.m. 

Representatives of the coastal community, fishermen’s federation, NGOs, and related government departments are expected to participate in these meetings. The ministry will review the existing CRZ Act of 1991 and consider valuable suggestions arising at these meetings. The purpose of these public consultations is to create an opportunity to express public opinion and frame policy decisions.
