MCC organizes educational tours for SC students

Mangalore, Feb 3: The Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) has organized educational tours for scheduled caste students for the first time in its history.

Each 4-day tour will include a visit to Mundagodu, Badami, Aihole, Pattadakallu, Hampi, Hubli, Sirsi, and Banavasi. The tours will be arranged by Bharathi Tourism Development Co-operative Institution. The first team of 200 students set out on Tuesday.

District-in-charge Minister Krishna J Palemar inaugurated the educational tour and wished the first team of students a happy journey. Mayor M Shankar Bhat, Commissioner Dr. Vijay Prakash, Joint Commissioner Madhu Gadkar, Standing Committee President Padmanabha K and Revathi, and Corporators Naveenchandra K, Amitha Kala, Ashwin Kumar, and many others were present during the occasion.

The MCC has set aside Rs 18 lakhs for this project. Around 500 students are expected to benefit.
