Demands to prevent ’loud speakers’ use between 10pm-6am

Mangalore, May  28, 2014:  Media reports indicate objections have been raised by organisations on the use of loud speakers.

"Rashtriya Hindu Andolana," a pro-Hindu organisation staged a protest in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner in Mangalore demanding that all institutions follow the Supreme Court direction on use of loud speakers while carrying out religious activities. The protesters said that the government should ban even ‘azaan’ (the muslim call to prayer) over loudspeakers in masjids early in the morning.

The government should put into effect the Supreme Court’s verdict that bans the use of loudspeakers between 10 pm and 6am.
