Coastal Security confiscates snake poison worth Rs 80 lakh

Mangalore, January 19: The Coastal Security Police of Mangalore confiscated around 2 liters of snake poison from M A Sharif (25) and Norbert (45) and arrested the two after conducting a raid under the guidance of SP Bhagvan Das and PI Mukund Nayak. The value of the snake poison is estimated to be Rs 80 lakh in the international market.

PI Mukund Nayak informed media people that A M Sharif and Norbert were arrested at their residence near NMPT Guest House. The Coastal Security Police had acted as per a tip. 

Two more people involved in the case who usually helped the duo sell the poison are currently absconding and police are looking for them. A case has been registered at the police station. Police are yet to find out the source of all this poison. 

The raid was conducted by a team of policemen comprising Amanulla A, Harish, Vijaya, Sheshappa Gowda, Navin, Shreedar, Rajaram, Revanna, and Bhaskar Shetty.
