CPM protests against ‘injustice’ to Dalits

Mangalore, Feb 3: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged a protest in front of the MCC building at Lalbagh on February 3, Wednesday, opposing the failure of the Mangalore City Corporation to extend the benefits and facilities due to the SC/ST community.

Addressing the agitators, Sunil Kumar Bajal, District Secretary of CPI (M) alleged that the corporation had still failed to provide sintex tanks to the SC/ST beneficiaries though it was completing the second financial year under the present BJP rule. The several protests staged by the party in this regard, have so far not yielded any result, he complained.

He also accused the authorities of misusing the funds meant for the welfare of the Dalits.

Several CPM activists took part in the agitation.
