Ban organizations creating communal discord: Justice B Somashekar

Mangalore, Feb 2:  The Justice Somashekara Commission, which conducted an enquiry on the attack on churches in September 2008, has recommended that all organizations that practice and preach against other religions must be banned. 

In its interim report, the Justice Somashekara Commission pointed out the inadequacy of the existing laws and suggested the introduction of special laws to punish organizations that create communal discord. 

He also suggested that all books, pamphlets, pictures, and others abusing or insulting other religions must be banned. Compensation must be paid to the victims of religious attacks within one month, he said.
