BD demands ban on movie, apology from actor

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, Feb 12: The district unit of Bajarang Dal urged the management of Big Cinemas on Thursday not to screen “My Name is Khan,” a Shah Rukh Khan movie. Sharan Pumpwell, the president of the district unit of Bajarang Dal, said that the film can be screened only after the actor apologizes for some controversial remarks he recently made.

Superintendent of Police Dr A S Rao said that the police department has placed a team of Karnataka Reserve Police on duty outside the theatre to maintain law and order in case of trouble. The police also confirmed that the management of Big Cinemas has not lodged any formal complaint.

A final decision regarding the screening of the movie is still pending, said the management.
