Amrita Vidyalaya to hold health camp marking youth day on Jan 12

Mangaluru, Jan 12, 2020: A special free health check-up camp, Amritha Arogya Mela-Swasthya Sambrama, will be organised to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and National Youth Day at Amrita Vidyalaya campus at Boloor /Sulthan Batheri on jan 12,  Sunday (9 am to 1 pm).

“The health camp is being organised by Mata Amritanandamayi Math, in association with District Wenlock Hospital and Manipal College of Dental Sciences and Hospital, under the theme ‘Celebration of Wellness’, District Wenlock Hospital Superintendent Dr Rajeshwari Devi H R said.

The first 100 beneficiaries with BPL cards will receive Ayushman cards on the spot (beneficiaries have to pay Rs 35 for smart card and submit copies of ration card and Aadhaar card).

She said the camp includes free medical check-up, eye camp, dental care and blood donation camp. As drug abuse is rampant in the vicinity, DK District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) nodal officer Dr U V Shenoy will also counsel the addicts. A bone mineral density (BMD) will also be conducted particularly for women aged above 50 years by Dr K R Kamath.

Mata Amritanandamayi Seva Samithi president Vasanthkumar Perla and Dr Rajeshwari appealed to the people to make the best use of facilities in the health camp.
