SACAA honors prominent staff to celebrate NAAC re-accreditation

Mangalore, Mar 8: St Aloysius College Alumni Association (SACAA) organized a programme to celebrate the receipt an A grade in NAAC re-accreditation and the college’s selection by the UGC as a college with “potential for excellence” during a programme held on March 6, Saturday. SACAA honored retired and working members of the staff who have served the institution for more than 25 years. 

Fr. Joseph Rodrigues, the rector of St Aloysius Institutions, said that teachers have a very significant role to play in the lives of students. He said that teachers are equal to God; and when a pupil surrenders himself to his teacher, he attains everything, adding that the felicitation programme is like an offering to God. 

Fr. Denzil Lobo, the director of St Aloysius Institute of Management and IT (AIMIT), said that the success of an institution depends on the quality of its staff members. He said that everybody in an institution is important because of their hard work, service, and dedication. 

President of SACAA Edmond Frank and Secretary Michael D’Souza also participated in the programme. Prof Victor and Prof Lourdusamy spoke on behalf of all the honored members.

F M Crasta, Dr K Rajendra, Prof Rolphie Mascarenhus, Prof Eric Patrao, Dr D Shripathi Rao, Dr Upendra Pernankila, Prof K J Shenoy, Prof J W F Saldanha, Prof V T S Jayabala, Prof Letitia Sequeira, Prof M L Sureshnath, and Prof K Srinivas were the retired staff members who were honored on the occasion. 

Prof S S Bosco, Dr N Damodara Shetty, Prof Harish Joshi, Dr. S Krishnamurthy, Fr Denzil Lobo, Prof Richard Pais, Dr A Lourduswamy, Dr Ivan Pinto, Dr A M Narahari, Prof Liguory Mendonca, Dr A Shridar, Prof John Sherra, Prof Ronald Pinto, Dr. Sudhakar Rao, Rajagopal Bhat, and Prof George Rodrigues were the working staff members, who were honored during the occasion.
