Youngster killed ,friend critical after Mobike accident in Mulki

Mulki, May 39, 2014: Anish Shetty (17) was killed in a road mishap in Mulki on May 28. It is reported he is the son of Mulki former Pnchayat President.  The victim’s friend Rakesh Shettigar who was riding pillion was seriously injured and hospitalised.

The duo was riding the bike from Mulky to Haleangady when a car moving from Mangalore to Mundkur rammed head-on into their bike. The Mulki police have booked a case.

Anish just completed PU studies. He was the younger of two children and  very gifted at cricket and practiced  regularly. On May 28, he was returning home with Rakesh after playing cricket, when the accident took place.

Police stated,  the accident happened as the car involved changed lanes without signal and veered over to the right. Work on the highway, specially the divider is in progress at the spot where the accident took place. It is said that due to the ongoing highway work, commuters are forced to follow detours that change almost  every day,  the resultant uncertainty and disturbance  has led to many accidents on this stretch recently. The attitude of the authorities lacks seriousness.
