Puttur, Mar 10, 2014 : BJP candidate from Bangalore North constituency and former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda has asserted that both Yettinahole Project and Netravathi River Diversion Project are two separate projects which have nothing to do with each other.
He was speaking after offering special pooja at Shree Mahalingeshwara Temple of Puttur on March 9, Sunday to initiate his election campaigning. Continuing, he said the Yettinahole Project only aims at diverting 24 TMC water from Yettinahole and ten other rivulets during monsoons.
Gowda further reiterated that he too was against the Netravathi River Diversion Project and claimed that the Yettinahole Project would do no harm to the coastal districts.
He said it was regrettable to note that some so called environmentalists were trying to mislead the public without realising the facts.
On the Lok Sabha elections and the party prospects, Gowda said the BJP would win more than 20 seats in the state. People are seeking a change and the BJP would emerge victorious due to the Modi and BJP wave, he struck a note of optimism.
The failures of the Congress and the groupism in the party will also help the BJP, he claimed.
Dr MK Prasad, Honorary President of Puttur unit of NaMo Bharath, Nanya Achyut Moodittaya, President of Shree Mahalingeshwara Temple Management Committee and others were present.
