Bonda factory gets clean chit in alleged food poisoning case

Mangaluru, May 02, 2024: The Bonda Factory at Adyar which was at the centre of a controversy after it was alleged that many people of the locality who took ill recently had consumed the bonda water purchased from the factory and that it was contaminated, has now got a clean chit in the lab report.

The lab report of samples which the Health Department has received has said no toxic substance was found in the tender coconut water supplied by the company.

The incident had taken place on April 9 following which it was viral on social media that most who were taken ill had consumed Bonda water from the factory. The blood, urine and stool samples of the ill were collected and lab reports have revealed the presence of bacteria.

The factory was shut down temporarily following the incident.
