deathkundapurOn June 19, Monday morning, Vishalakshi Poojary (37)  of Byndoor was bit by a snake while she was cooking. Though she was immediately rushed to the Byndoor Government Hospital, the doctors there referred her to the Kundapur Government Hospital as they  did not  have  required medicine.

Though she was then taken to  Kundapur  Government  Hospital, it is said she died as she was not given treatment on time.

Later relatives as well as various organisations staged a protest  demanding suspension of the doctor and staff.  Tahsildar G M Borker and Special Tahsildar of Byndoor Kiran Gorayya visited the hospital.

Police had to resort to a mild lathi charge as protestors refused to disperse.
