Mangalore, May 18, 2013: State Wakf Board Chairman Riyaz Ahmed Khan who is on a DK district tour, visited the Zeenath Baksh Yateem Khana in Mangalore on May 17, Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the Board was committed to protect Wakf properties.
He said talks have also been held with the Union Minister Rehman Khan over the issue of protecting Wakf properties. Discussions have also been held with the representatives of Islamic Development Bank, he added.
Allaying the misconception in the minds of some organizations regarding registration with Wakf Board, he said the organizations will benefit in several ways by doing so.
He further warned encroachers of Wakf Board properties and added that those found guilty are liable to face imprisonment for three years.
Haji Y Abdulla Kunhi, President of Zeenath Baksh, SM Rasheed, Treasurer, Swadakatulla Faizi, Khatib, SK Mohammad Shafi, State Wakf Board Member, Abdul Hameed, District Wakf Officer and others were present.
