Vittal, July 7, 2014:  Chairing a meeting at the Government Model Higher Primary School in Vittal July 6, DK Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim  said that the narrow road in Vittal town will be widened after completing the land acquisition early.

The traffic jams at Vittal Junction are frequently causing inconvenience, as it is a serious bottleneck. Four local merchants have filed against land acquisition which is a hurdle.  The public impressed upon the DC to have a proper time bound plan to solve the problem. PWD Executive Engineer Y Umesh Bhat said the land acquisition can take place only after the court verdict.

The Deputy Commissioner said measures will be taken to appoint a public prosecutor to present the argument on behalf of the district administration.  A person complained that the road widening in Vittal has been delayed due to the lack of coordination among the government departments in the taluk . Executive Engineer Umeshchandra pointed out some of the hurdles like overhead cable. The electric poles in Vittal market road canl be shifted within 10 days. The administration is to take measures to restrict the movement of vehicles heading towards Vittal junction from Kalladka and Kabaka. A sign board put up by the PWD in Kalladka has disappeared, the people complained.

The DC instructed the police department to take measures to install a sign boards. After the meeting,the DC visited the Vittal town and inspected the problems. He promised to visit the town again soon. Looking at the bad parking of vehicles on the road, the DC directed Sub Inspector to take action against defaulters. The DC himself was delayed in the traffic at Vittal Junction.  Assistant Commissioner Prashant, Vittal Gram Panchayat President Bhavani Rai Kolya, MLA Shakunthala Shetty among others were present, action is expected soon.
