Vittal minor rape case accused brought to Mangalore

Mangalore, May 21, 2014:  The two accused in the case of rape of a minor girl at Idkidu in Vittal, who were arrested at Okha in Gujarat recently, were brought to Mangalore on May 20, Tuesday.

 

 

The two namely Bakuta Basheer and Radhukatte Basheer, both wanted criminals were produced before the media at the SP office. Giving information about the case, Dr Sharanappa, SP said police are searching for the third accused in the case named Jabbar. He said the trio were absconding ever since a case of abduction and rape  was filed against them in Vittal police station on April 24. He said the police who acted on a tip off that two of the accused Bakuta Basheer and Radhukatte Basheer were in Dwaraka and Jamnagar districts in Gujarat,  intimated their counterparts in Gujarat  and accordingly, the sub-inspector of Okha arrested the two on May 17. The two were  subsequently brought to Vittal on May 20.

The SP said the arrested duo was wanted in several theft cases in Kadaba Ulla, Sullia, Puttur in Dakshina Kannada and Uppala in Kasargod.

The two are facing   charges of taking a 14 year old girl of Idkidu to Madikeri by a car and repeatedly raping her there. The third accused Jabbar faces charges of threatening an acid attack on the victim.
