The residents of the two wards met at Ullal Kodi on March 23, Sunday and passed a resolution in this regard. The meeting was attended by around 500 people  mostly youth. Prominent among the participants  were Mohammad Ashraf, President of Badria Jumma Masjid of Kodi, Abdullatif, Secretary, Mohammad Haji, former president, Rafiq, Basheer Haji UK Mohammad Kodi,  UK Khalid and Noor Mohammad.

The participants of the meeting strongly felt that Hindu and Muslim brethren were living in harmony and that innocents have been targeted in connection with the recent incidents.  They alleged police who barged into houses, had misbehaved with women and arrested innocents and sent them to Bellary jail. None of the elected representatives came to our aid, they said adding boycotting the elections was the only way out.

Though the councillors of the two wards Ashraf Bava and Kunhimonu arrived when the meeting was half way through, initially  their presence was objected. However, later they were allowed to speak.

Speaking on the occasion, Ashraf said he cannot assure anything due to the election code of conduct and urged the locals not to boycott the elections. The other councillor Kunhimonu who also spoke, said he was along with the people.
