Udupi, May 29, 2014 : The NCC Golden Jubilee celebrations were held at the MGM College at Udupi on May 28, Wednesday to mark the completion of 50 years of Karnataka Battalion NCC.
Col. SR Sriram, Group Commander of Mangalore NCC received the guard of honour from NCC cadets. In his address he recalled the glorious history of the NCC and exhorted the cadets to have the interests of the nation uppermost in mind. Self-discipline is a must, he further added.
Col. B.S. Giwari, Commanding Officer of 21 Karnataka Battalion NCC Udupi who was present as a chief guest gave information on the annual training camp of NCC 21 Karnataka Battalion (Land Wing) which is being held at MGM College from May 21. A total of 496 NCC cadets and 25 officers are participating in the camp which will conclude on May 30.
Candidates who successfully participated in the camp were presented mementoes.
BS Tiwari, TN Menon, Sanjeeva Shukla, NCC Officers, HL Naika, Principal of MGM College, Capt. Prakash Rao, NCC Training Officer of the College and others were present.
